Case Study: #BCBCDayOfWellness

In early March, Social T. aligned with Town Hall Brands to co-create “BC Blueberries Day of Wellness” with the British Columbia Blueberry Council (BCBC) at Nectar Yoga B&B on Bowen Island. The goal of the event was to promote well-being, educate guests that a healthy diet is a fundamental part of a life of wellness, and inform them that BC Blueberries are a powerful and delicious ingredient for the maintenance of a balanced lifestyle. 

This experiential event involved 24 influencers and media in attendance, and the support of five gift bag sponsors to gain maximum exposure of BC blueberries.

Social media and event promotion managed by Social T. included:  

  • Influencer and media outreach for e-invitations

  • Aligned with Town Hall Brands in the creation of the event schedule, logistics and PR brief

  • Organize a day full of wellness activities including a nature walk and relaxing yoga session with Nectar Yoga B&B

  • Hosted keynote speakers Mandy King to speak about the health benefits of blueberries and Saje Natural Wellness to teach the guests about essential oils

  • Partnered with personal chefs Fresh In Your Fridge to create a blueberry-themed menu

  • Put together gift bags with blue-hued swag from Herschel Supply Co., Organika, GD Growers and Herbaland Gummies

  • Engaged with guests both online and off prior to, during and post-event

  • Live posting of event highlights on Instagram Stories

  • Content creation for BCBC’s social media channels on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest 

  • Event photography and videography by Rhonda Dent and Luke Strahm 

A custom hashtag, #BCBCDayOfWellness, was created to encourage social sharing before, throughout and after the event, and used by some of Vancouver’s top wellness influencers including Natalie Langston, Rachelle Hay, Tara Teng, Em von Euw, Bernadette Yoga...and many more!

As a result of the event and associated social media engagement, we collectively reached 750,000 followers, grew @bcblueberries’ online presence by both follower count and profile impressions, and saw over 20,000 views on event-specific Instagram Stories.
