WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A FREE AND PREMIUM LINKEDIN ACCOUNT?

A basic LinkedIn account lets you access networking tools like search, profile optimization, article publication, and connection requests with short, 130-character messages. The premium version offers more in-depth insights, unlimited search capabilities, and the opportunity to send “InMail” messages.

However, from our experience, you don’t need to break the bank with the premium version! If you’re leveraging LinkedIn the right way, you can still grow a strong digital presence using the free version. In fact, our Founder & CEO Tara Clark tested the LinkedIn premium account and her posts only received about 10% higher engagement. Additionally, the search results and status updates of those who looked at her profile were pretty dismal for the high fee.

Although we love the idea of significant growth on LinkedIn, it is more important to build a powerful network by connecting with people you actually know. WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CONNECTION AND A FOLLOWER?

If you follow someone on LinkedIn but do not connect, you will still be able to see their posts and articles (activity). But it’s more effective to have a connection who also follows you. This way, you can send them messages to request personal introductions to business contacts. Additionally, engagement on posts you share and react to appears for both of your networks, allowing your posts to get maximum reach.

SHOULD I SHARE PHOTOS OR VIDEOS ON LINKEDIN?

According to Hootsuite, posts with images get twice the engagement of text posts, while posts with videos get five times the engagement! LinkedIn members love to engage with rich and appealing content, so be sure to use modern imagery with crisp, engaging visuals. 

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO POST ON LINKEDIN?

The best time for B2B brands to post is Tuesday through Thursday between 10 AM to 11 AM local time. Unsurprisingly, one of the worst times to post is on Sunday because that’s when people are recuperating for the week ahead.
