Recapping A Virtual Event On Social Media

4 Tips for Sharing Post-Event Content on Social Media

Your virtual event just wrapped up…so now what? Here are four ways to recap your event on social media, plus tips to keep the conversations and networking going for weeks to come!

#1: RECAP KEY TIPS

Example of a blog post recapping key tips from Tara Clark.

It can be difficult to constantly generate fresh content. Without reinventing the wheel, create a blog post of the conference’s five key tips and send it to all attendees, along with a PDF of the slide deck. Take this a step further with videos on YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn and IGTV, as it adds a personal touch and can be shared easily online. This keeps your organization and conference top of mind.

#2: SEND A NEWSLETTER

Good news: This is likely a marketing tactic your team already uses! After the event, send a newsletter to all attendees thanking them for tuning in (don’t forget to include a key tips recap). Repurpose info from the newsletter as social media content, such as key takeaways, polls, and hashtag reach results.

#ProTip: HippoVideo is a free video-capturing Chrome Extension that offers seamless integration to your digital mailing systems. It can save you a ton of time!

#3: HOST A VIRTUAL Q&A

This is a powerful and efficient way to create a personable experience for your online audience. Since they take place online, attendees can join and participate from anywhere in the world. Start a thread on Twitter, leave comments on a specific LinkedIn or Facebook post, or get creative by using the “Ask a Question” sticker on Instagram Stories.

#4: FORM AN ONLINE GROUP

Creating groups on Facebook or LinkedIn is a great way to continue the conversation among speakers, attendees, and event organizers. It’s also perfect for bouncing around ideas, asking related questions, and sharing industry news and tips. Of course, this is also where you can post about next year’s event!
